The short answer
Pick Cursor if you want the most finished AI code editor, especially for running several agents at once. Try Google Antigravity if you want to push Google's Gemini models hard for free, or to build new features from scratch.
Our evidence is light. Jordan used Antigravity around Gemini 3's launch in November 2025 and gave his one real comparison in Episode 24 that December. He tried a new version in May 2026. We never built a show project in Antigravity, and by 2026 neither tool was our main one.
What we built with each
Cursor
- Ryz Score: Jordan "built most of this in Cursor" (Episode 4).
- Mate and the Collective finance dashboard: started in Bolt, finished in Cursor.
- Tix LAX parking ticket map: coded "almost all of it using cursor and codex" (Episode 15).
- Kalshi prediction market trading bot: Cursor with Claude Code and Opus 4.5 (Episode 26).
Google Antigravity
No builds. Jordan downloaded it the day Gemini 3 dropped and spent the night "munching tokens" until he was throttled (Episode 22, at 18:13). That night he could not get Gemini 3 to work in either tool:
So cursor, I can't get Gemini three to work. I can't get Gemini three to work in anti gravity. I burned all my tokens.
— Jordan Metzner, Episode 22
He still came away "incredibly impressed" with Gemini 3 for coding and design taste. The bottleneck was access, not the model.
Head-to-head
The comparison came up when Sam raised a news story about Cursor's CEO and the model labs. Jordan said he has "every IDE installed": Visual Studio, Antigravity, Windsurf and Cursor. Then he compared them:
My go to is cursor. It's like I think it's definitely the most developed. And when I can use, like, multiple agents simultaneously, it's definitely the best, like, product user customer experience.
— Jordan Metzner, Episode 24
On Antigravity he said: "it's free, so I use try to use up my tokens until they kick me off. But it's not as polished as a product." It did have "some cool, like, one off features," and he added that every editor copies the others' features fast, so gaps do not last.
The same conversation turned into the real question behind this comparison. Anand Chandrasekaran argued that once coding models level off, tooling and price decide the winner, and Cursor has been building tooling longest. Jordan pushed back: the company that builds the model may build the best tooling around it, and he pointed to Google's chips as a way to run Gemini cheaply inside its own editor. That is the bet Antigravity represents (Episode 24, at 35:16).
Where each one fell short
Cursor. Cost and churn. Jordan said his Cursor card was hit constantly with Anthropic models, and in Episode 36 one developer ran up a $2,000 bill with a new Cursor feature. He also noted Cursor needed product updates almost daily. Most importantly, our own team and several guests moved on from Cursor to Claude Code and Codex in 2026.
Antigravity. Polish, and a moving target. In Episode 43 (May 2026), Jordan downloaded it again to test Gemini 3.5 Flash and found "an entire new interface copying, you know, the the codecs and cloud code type interface." He said "I kind of lost the IDE part of it, and I don't know if I can get it back."
What our guests use
Sagi Waitzman was the one guest who uses Antigravity. His team splits the work by job (Episode 28, at 08:44): Windsurf, which he compares to Cursor, for specific fixes, and Antigravity and Claude Code for features built from zero, "because we understand they this is what they do the best." Fixing existing code, he said, is harder in those.
On the Cursor side, Karim Malhas runs a contest at his company over who uses Cursor most, and Jackson Reiter's team at Realm uses it.
Which one we reach for now
Neither, day to day. In December 2025 Cursor was Jordan's go-to and Antigravity a free side tool. By 2026 Jordan had moved to OpenAI Codex, and Antigravity itself had turned into a Codex and Claude Code style agent app. Jordan's take on Google, from Episode 43, is that its TPUs and low token costs could be "a pretty dangerous recipe" with a really good model, so it is worth re-testing. For the tools we do use now, see Claude Code vs Cursor and Claude Code vs OpenAI Codex.
FAQ
Is Antigravity better than Cursor?
Not in Jordan's December 2025 comparison. He called Cursor the most developed and the best experience for running multiple agents, and said Antigravity was free with some cool one-off features but not as polished.
Is Google Antigravity free?
When Jordan tried it in late 2025 it was free, and he used up his tokens until it cut him off. We have not checked current pricing.
What is Antigravity good for?
Guest Sagi Waitzman's team uses Antigravity and Claude Code to build features from zero, and Windsurf for specific fixes, because fixing existing code is harder in the agent tools.
Does Antigravity still have an IDE?
When Jordan downloaded the new version in May 2026 to test Gemini 3.5 Flash, the interface had changed to copy the Codex and Claude Code style, and he said he lost the IDE part and was not sure he could get it back.
